My name is Caterina Reinker and I am doing my master’s degree in social and cultural anthropology at the University of Cologne.

Thanks to the scholarship awarded by the DAAD-Network „Remapping The Global South“ I conducted the research for my master’s thesis at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa.

My research is located in the research area „Migration And Translocal Relations“ and focuses on identity construction of German immigrants in Cape Town. To address the wider public I plan to create a multi media project, which lets users experience the research results in a more graphic and approachable manner.
