Research Project: Tracing the Changes in the Socio-Cultural Spheres in the Life of African Migrants living in India.
Guten Tag! My name is Pooja Priya and I am a sociology postgraduate from Delhi University in India. I am motivated to pursue my doctoral studies at Cologne University in the coming year and therefore the research conference that I had attended in the month of December 2019 at the department of GSSC of University of cologne has been an insightful and a learning experience for myself, both academically and on a personal level.
I would like to extend my heartful gratitude to the professors Ulrike Wesch, Michaela Pelican and the entire faculty members at GSSC who have given me this golden opportunity to learn and develop skills of difference aspects of research and generate various perspective to understand social problems from across the global south region including south-south migration within the span of 15 days. Secondly , I am also thankful to my colleagues from India , Argentina , South Africa, China and cologne for exchanging their opinions on the social issues that we face on a periodic basis as societies in developing countries. The experience of this research conference would indeed help me transform into a better social scientist .
I am looking forward to the next time we get to interact and exchange opinions and ideas at University of Cologne.
