Research Project:
Synergies between different stakeholders and urban farmers in enhancing urban agriculture practices in Cape Town

Hi, my name is Tinashe Kanosvamhira from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. I am currently studying for a Masters in Geography at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa.

My research focuses on the organization of urban agriculture in Cape Town. It specifically analyses the synergies between different stakeholders and urban farmers in enhancing urban agriculture practices.

I was awarded a scholarship to attend an academic training workshop hosted by the Global South Studies Centre at the University of Köln in November 2017. Participating in this workshop enabled me to improve my academic writing skills and presentation techniques. This program enhanced my academic career as I was able to meet and interact with different researchers from partner universities. I managed to present my research and receive constructive feedback from researchers present.

During my stay, I was impressed by the rich history of Köln as well as the social cohesion among its citizens. The highlight of my stay was the carnival held on the 11th of November.
